PowerVu Provider Strikes Back

Image
One more satellite tv provider which uses PowerVu as the encryption system has counter-attack the hacked system. It's been five years (since December 2014), the system first publicly posted about the break by Colibri.DVB. In the long run, the providers have also been so busy 'at war' with the piracy. Seems this time they are on the winner side, as we can no longer see anymore patch released publicly. But, it's not usually a good news for the provider as long as the hobbyists are still there to play with the security systems. Well, who knows after a year since the last Anubis_Ir released his PowerVu_EMU at Satellite Universe forum. Let's just wait and see!

[Enigma2 Cosmetics] Show menu numbers with special format

Image
You may know that I am a big fan of Enigma2 especially OpenPLi and Open Black Hole. As a result I compile my own Enigma2 image which I then call "MyEnigma2". So, today I just have managed to give MyEnigma2 a bit more cosmetic on its "Show menu numbers". We have three different formats so far, take a close look at these screenshots: We can set this up through this menu (look at the menu path to configure): I haven't update MyEnigma2 files on server right now. I'll tell you later when would you be able to have this function for MyEnigma2 on your Enigma2 STB. Okay, that's all for now!

Blindscan Support for Dinobot

Image
New progress on Dinobot STBs: u5, u51, and u52, for the new feature in the Enigma2. It now supports satellite tv blindscan . But, need not to rush, because it still is in the early stage as the u52 only reported to be working normally. I've tested on u5 but with no luck to lock any tranponder. Linux Inside Satellite TV Receivers

Image
Talking about linux on a satellite tv receiver, you might straightly think about Enigma2. Why is that so? Because many people will refer to Enigma2 when they're asked about linux on an STB. In fact, there are still other kinds of linux used on the STB. For example, you may know about Fortis and Spark, and what about some receivers which use Guoxin GX6622. Enigma is known to be the largest community supported linux STB since it is now Open Source, i.e you can find the source code to compile the image for your box based on the brand you have. It is easy to find the sources on github by the team, name it OpenPLi, OpenATV, OpenBH, and many more. These teams officially support some brands including the famous brand itself the DMM. Beside the DMM, there are also other brands which also popular among the users: VU+, Dinobot, Amiko, Formuler, Mutant, Zgemma, and many more. If you find your box are still not supported yet, you may try to request to the people who involve in coding th
